The Virginia Mae Scholarship, valued at $1,000, will be awarded each year to one deserving high school senior. In order to be considered, the high school senior must submit a completed application packet via email to the email address specified in the "Contact Us" section located at the bottom of this page. The completed application packet must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (CST) on the last day of February of each year. The documents may be in Microsoft Word or PDF format only. All of the documents, including the completed application checklist, must be sent as attachments in one email. Multiple emails containing different documents will not be accepted and constitute immediate disqualification. If the email does not contain all of the documents, the application packet is incomplete and is thereby immediately disqualified as well. Along with the completed application packet, an official copy of the student’s high school transcript must be sent directly from the school counselor to the scholarship committee’s email address specified in the “Contact Us” section below. In order to ensure that the transcript is delivered, the students should have their counselor cc them on the email. Any transcripts sent by students and not directly by the counselor will be marked as ineligible and will also constitute immediate disqualification.
Please be sure to follow all guidelines and complete the checklist. The checklist has been provided as a tool for you to use to make sure that nothing is missed. So, please be sure to use it. The Virginia Mae Scholarship committee will not be notifying any students of incomplete application packets or disqualifications. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they have all of the correct documents in the correct formats as outlined on the scholarship checklist before submission. A blank copy of the application and the scholarship checklist may be downloaded from the "Application" section located at the bottom of this page. The application review and selection process will be conducted by the Virginia Mae Scholarship Committee. The winning applicant will be determined by objectively scoring the documents contained in the complete application packet. The applicant with the highest score will win the scholarship. Only the winning applicant will be notified via email on or before April 30th of each year. Once the winner has been notified, they will have one week to confirm receipt of the winning email. If no confirmation is received within one week, the student forfeits the scholarship and it goes to the next highest scorer. Upon receipt of proof of enrollment, the scholarship funds will be released. The proof of enrollment should be emailed to the scholarship committee’s email address.
